Hi, welcome to our website Totally Off Our Grid!
A name brought to life from us both being a little crazy and the start of our crazy off grid adventure.
Having looked at other people who are living the dream, watching YouTube and reading up on other peoples journeys living off grid, they all seem to start from people already having the land and starting to build a home. We decided to start documenting our journey from day one! Day one for us means day one. Not only do we need to buy the land, we also need to raise money for the land and learn a huge amount in the process.
We decided that growing our own food was the first skill we needed to master, and learn and evolve from year to year. We will keep you updated on any further advancements towards our dream, whether that is new skills learnt or lessons learnt , and hopefully the day we can purchase our own land.
Our dream is also evolving and the goal is still very much to own land one day (hopefully not to far off), but we are also looking to start our van conversion, so we can also do some off grid travel. So please stay with us on our adventure.
Thanks for stopping by to read Totally Off Our Grid, come by again soon.

The tree stumps three just proved way … Continue reading Stumps be Gone
I have been writing this post for weeks and every time I come back to it the garden has changed again. The pea trellis … Continue reading The Garden, Van and a Trip to Wales
I love the garden in Spring! The tree’s have some lovely colourful blossoms on, the leaves on all the fruit bushes have all peeped out and the rhubarb has finally started to emerge. The herb bed has some lovely fragrant Wild Garlic which is begging to be made into cheese and wild garlic scones. We … Continue reading The Garden in April
It’s been amazing watching everything start to grow again, although it’s been such a mild winter that some of the plants were sprouting as early as January. We have blossom on the peach and nectarine trees and the other fruit trees are starting to bud now too, and the great mark of spring is the … Continue reading Spring has Sprung
Happy New Year!!!! We have disappeared off here for a while. In truth we lost a lot of motivation and got stuck in a bit of a negative mind set, especially myself. I think last we wrote was that the van had gone in for much needed welding. Well he had it for over a … Continue reading Andddd…. We’re back!
The truth is not a lot! The garden this year hasn’t received as much attention as last. I feel a bit guilty as the van suddenly took over our focus. We have had some fruit and vegetables that have done better this year and some that never made it at all. We had great success … Continue reading Whats Been Happening with Us?
