I was asked the other day, when do you know when it’s time to re-pot a seedling plant? The honest answer is, I don’t know. I’m no expert at gardening and everything we have done is purely trial and error, or at least following some instruction that we have read or watched, using whatever we have available to us or what we have ordered online.
So here goes with a little re-potting of the apple seedlings I have…

First I had to get two pots for re-planting.

As you can see there are holes in the bottom of the pots and I have nothing to put them into, so I placed a small piece of paper at the bottom to stop the compost from coming out and to slow the loss of water. I need to find a tray of sorts to put them on.
I then mixed some compost, tea leaves and crushed eggshell together to place into the pots. The eggs I crushed with a spoon, the same as last time.
I then filled my pots with the mixture leaving a little space at the top. Then I removed my seedlings from the makeshift nursery pot and put them in the new planting pots.
All I had left to do was to make new naming labels, and put back into the windows sill.

That’s all for today. Stay safe, stay well.
