With all the rain lately, the plants have grown massive. The peas are at the top of he trellis, the coriander has nearly taken over the curry plant and the strawberries that were grown from seed have gone mad in the pots and started to flower.
Taking a look at all the pods hat have grown on the peas, we decided to try a semi fat one. Not too worried that they weren’t quite fat enough, as the more peas you pick, the more peas that grow. They were tiny, but tasted delicious! super sweet and very moreish! Can’t wait for them to be ready.
There is no better sign of the season changing than pumpkins! Autumn being my favourite time of year. I noticed yesterday that the pumpkin plant got its first curl! I love pumpkin and can’t wait for Autumn to come to tuck in to these delicious fruits! They won’t of course be ready until probably late September.
I said in a previous post that I had killed off 4 pink lady apple trees, well the 4th one I have been trying to save. I repotted it into a bigger pot and watered it less and it’s finally got some new growth. I removed the last of the dodgy leaves now it has new ones. Please keep your fingers crossed for us that this one makes it! 😂😂🤞🤞
Tony’s of course still look great!

We are going to dig out the first of our potatoes soon, so that will be in the next post. The first bag is definitely ready ! It has flowered and fallen and the leaves are starting to die off now.

Other than that, we have just been going out for some lovely walks around where we live and down the canals. We have been keeping our eye out for plums, they are very nearly ready. I will let you know what we make with them, if we manage to get a few.
That’s all for now, Stay safe and stay well.

Kiera and Tony
I used to love picking peas in the garden and eating them when I was a kid. Delicious! Looks like lots of abundant growth. Well done 😉

Thanks 😊 I did too! Some of my fondest memories are being in my Nana and Grandads vegetable garden.
